Mimicking the layout of Hohner's iconic chromatic button accordions (CBA)—both B-System (Bayan) and C-System—this intuitive virtual accordion offers an experience akin to playing the authentic instrument.

The Hohner Chromatic Accordion features a 52-button treble button board and 36 bass/chord buttons, allowing for versatile musical expression.

Users can easily toggle between B or C-System button layouts using the selector positioned at the interface edge.

Furthermore, players have the option to select between Bass/Major/Minor/7 or Counter Bass/Major/Minor configurations for the left-side controls of the instrument.

Additionally, the bass/chord side's pitch can be transposed up or down by two semitones using the control provided at the bottom left of the screen. It is worth noting that there may be an enhancement in future updates to synchronize note labels after transposition, thus further enhancing user experience.

This transposition feature significantly broadens the bass side's range by shifting the notes up or down two rows accordingly.

With MIDI control capabilities, users can manipulate the treble sounds externally via MIDI from hardware devices or other MIDI applications. The range spans from G3 to E6, with G3 representing the lowest note (MIDI Note 55).

A convenient way to cycle through different button label displays is by interacting with the "?" button onscreen.

The "i" button reveals a settings page where users can balance individual volume levels for treble, bass, and chords independently.

On this settings page, it is possible to fine-tune reverb characteristics by selecting styles, adjusting send levels for different components, and regulating overall reverb intensity.

Users can set the treble side's MIDI channel with precision through a dedicated "MIDI Channel" slider control.

A dedicated help screen accessible via touch on the Hohner logo provides valuable information alongside a direct link to the Hohner accordion website. Alternatively, by touching the Accordion Life logo, users can access online accordion lessons for learning purposes.

The Hohner Chromatic Accordion app caters to musicians seeking to practice chord progressions, scales, and songs conveniently while on-the-go.

For personalized playing experiences, players can utilize headphones for private practice or amplify the virtual accordion's audio output by connecting to computer speakers or compatible sound systems.

This application proves especially beneficial for both novice students and seasoned professionals as a handy supplementary tool that complements their physical accordions. While it does not aim to replicate a genuine accordion entirely, it stands out as a practical and accessible tool for practice sessions, learning endeavors, or teaching pursuits.

Please Note: To facilitate multi-finger playing requiring more than four simultaneous touches on the screen, it is imperative to disable "Multitasking Gestures" in iPad Settings. Users can navigate to "General / Multitasking Gestures" within the Settings app and deactivate this feature to ensure seamless gameplay.
